The Social, Cultural and Humanitarian Committee

The Social, Cultural, and Humanitarian Committee (SOCHUM) is mandated to deliberate upon and seek solutions for pressing global concerns intersecting with human rights, social progress, and cultural preservation. Key areas of focus routinely include addressing systemic gender inequality, eradicating human trafficking, ensuring fundamental freedoms through the elimination of racial discrimination, managing the treatment of refugees, advancing women's progress, safeguarding Indigenous issues, and protecting cultural heritage.

Delegates are tasked with the vital work of drafting comprehensive resolutions designed to elevate global social conditions, secure human dignity and the right to self-determination, and cultivate robust international cooperation necessary to uphold and advance humanitarian principles across the globe.
